OK, I've downloaded the tape kernel, parmfile, and initrd and have gotten it to
IPL under Hercules. I've set up the networking stuff. When the install script
attempts to contact a mirror site I get an error message saying "ERROR: Bad
archive mirror". I am able to ping the address that has been assigned to this
Debian instance but I can't determine if the instance can talk to the outside
world, yes I did give it a name server address. Using that name server address
from z/OS I am able to lookup the mirror site names.

Any ideas?????

However, what we offer is currently Woody, not Sarge. That's
intentional, until Sarge is released as the stable release.

If you want Sarge, go to:

http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/dists/testing/main/installer-s390/rc2/
images/generic/

For the IPL decks and execs.

If you need a tape install, replace "generic" with "tape"
