The SuSE maintenance agreement (or at least the one I'm familiar with in the US) does have language restricting redistribution of service and service media for SLES -- not the content of the service RPMs (which, as you point out, are GPL), but the packaging and delivery methods -- you may have a legitimate right to the versions of the software, but in all fairness, you don't have any legitimate right to take SuSE's work in packaging and delivering that software and give it to someone else without compensating SuSE for the work. They haven't contributed that labor to the community -- they have kids to send to college and mortgages to pay too (don't we all...). You should respect that, especially if you plan to use the software to support your business, and you expect SuSE's investment to continue. We had enough trouble convincing them to do Linux on 390 at all -- let's not blatantly rip them off, shall we?
