I have SuSE9 and RHAS 4.0 installed. I have never had to put these machines into single-user mode and I'm unsure how to do it. Does anyone have any experience?
I think I may have the RHAS 4.0 figured out. By putting multiple sections in the zipl.conf to pass "single" on the boot parameter looks like it will work. This is only because RHAS 4.0 now has a menu when you IPL zLinux that allows you to pass which section you want to IPL using #CP VI VMSG x command. I'm unsure about SuSE9.
