I think what you would really like IBM to do is something akin to the HMC's "integrated ASCII console" in z/VM as well as just from the HMC. I wonder if there are enough z/Linux under z/VM customers to "pressure" IBM for this feature? z/VM already supports the integrated 3270 console (SYSG?) as well as the old forget-what-it's-called (SYSC).
