Much as I love the MP3K's design, don't. Parts are too expensive, and unless you have a very, VERY good UPS, the biggest risk there is that the power supplies are getting fairly elderly in most of the MP3Ks. That's a $9K part, and there is no used parts market for the MP3K. That was the final blow to our H70. Also, the SSA disks used in the MP3K are rare and expensive as well - 4K for a 18G SSA disk. > OTOH, I know that it'll suck up more power than the PC - but > I'm > not so sure whether it'll be more than the Alpha. 2 30A circuits if you have internal DASD. I think I'd probably recommend another Alpha, or a medium sized Intel box. Of course, if it was mine and budget was no object, I'd get a small Itanium box and run VMS or TOPS-20 on it. 8-) But, I'm weird that way. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For LINUX-390 subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: INFO LINUX-390 or visit http://www.marist.edu/htbin/wlvindex?LINUX-390
