Hello.

(Sorry for the previous unfinished message)

We are building a z/VM Linux environment, with z/VM 5.2 and SLES 10 SP1, on
a z9 machine connected to a Symmetrix storage infrastructure.

We need a big file server for a log's storage and consolidation project.
Approximately it will start with 4 TB. Two servers will write and another
two will write.

We have to choose:

- filesystem: XFS (seems better for a lot of big files), Reiser, Ext3
- volume management: LVM2, EVMS (better integration with PAVs)
- file server: NFSv4, NFSv3, ...

Another point of view is to user a cluster file system. Suse 10 SP1 comes
with OCFS2 (Oracle Cluster File System). In this case we don't need NFS and
OCFS has its own filesystem. But we have to use EVMS in each cluster's node.

Any experience / suggestion ?

Thanks in advance
