Some comments, in no particular order: Think also about OpenAFS. The ability to distribute data and clients, and retain some local cache in the individual servers may be a win. Reiser is probably not a good long term choice, in that support is uncertain. Ext3 seems stable and a good average choice. EVMS seems to provide a better user interface than LVM2. Rh has done a better front end for LVM2, but I really like the conceptual basis of EVMS. NFSv4 is "not yet" in our book. Works, but hard to get tuned well. Consider also authentication and identity management methods. Particularly if you intend to use NFS. Kerberos, good. LDAP, OK. NIS, not so good. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For LINUX-390 subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: INFO LINUX-390 or visit http://www.marist.edu/htbin/wlvindex?LINUX-390
