I did a little test this morning. I found that when I use scp on OpenSUSE 10 the file will get translated, but when I use the PuTTY PSCP command on Windows XP the file did not get translated. I suspect that there are some versions of the scp command that do something wrong. Perhaps some scp implementations use the sftp protocol?
