Unless you force it with options or entries in the configuration
files, mkinitrd attempts to build the ramdisk (and linuxrc in it)
according to what you have on your system at the time mkinitrd runs.
So when you manually load the modules and enable the swap device,
mkinitrd should cause the module to be loaded on next reboot.
