My condolences, along with everyone else's.

When you thanked Mike in the mailing list before, I passed that on to him. He
really appreciated it, since

The main thing is that the directory/file layout on the network installation
server has been changed dramatically, for the better. Instead of the Byzantine
set of directories and symbolic links, what you have now is a simple
/path/to/top-level/ or /path/to/top-level/CD1, CD2, etc. I recommend using
the DVD so you don't even need the CD[123] directories. The next thing is that
if you use FTP to access the installation media, the path you specify is
_relative_ to whatever directory the FTP server puts you in when you connect.
So, don't start the path with a "/". If you need to go "down" in the
hierarchy, tell it the path is "dir1/dir2/etc." If you need to go "up," then
tell it "../../../etc."

Since you're going to be installing SP2, get the release notes for SLES10 GA
and SP1 as well, since there's a lot of information in them that doesn't get
repeated in later releases.

The dialog to set up your network has changed quite a bit, so watch it
carefully. The various parameters you can specify in the parmfile to automate
the network setup are totally different. I really recommend using the parmfile
to do that, since you're likely to wind up trying the install more than once.

In very general terms, there shouldn't be any real gotcha's doing an LPAR
install that wouldn't happen with a z/VM guest install. As before, if you need
help, open an SR. With SLES10, there's no pre-set limit on how many you can
open, so don't burn a huge amount of your own time if you hit a wall.
