Hi Mark, I'm configuring via YaST(2), as that's what I'm most familiar with.
What I'm trying to set up is two separate ports, following the naming standards for the 'domains' on the other LPARs. eth0: ip: 157.145.4.159 name: tcpgalileo eth1: ip: 157.145.4.160 name: ftpgalileo They both share the same network mask: 255.255.252.0, gateway: 157.145.4.50, and dns servers: 157.145.4.48, 157.145.4.26 right now, eth0 is running as 4.160, and it will not connect when I try to ssh to it. Also, it does not respond to a ping from my PC. eth1, running as 4.159, does connect. The basic idea is to separate the 'small block size' traffic from the 'big block size' traffic (ftp, lpr, Samba, NFS, etc). Thanks, Dave Dave Stuart Prin. Info. I think you're going to have to provide examples. Commands issued, results received, etc. What you want to do, as you experienced previously, is entirely feasible. How are you trying to configure the interfaces? Via YaST, or manually? What configuration parms are you trying to set for each of them?
