I find that I regularly have to roll-in the X3270 fonts and then re-run 'mkfontdir' in that directory. It may be that the RPM or other packaging does this for me (if and when I get X3270 as a distro formalized package). But the manual thing works (when I choose to separate X3270 from the op sys).
The difference is striking. X3270 without its "real 3270 look-alike" fonts ... well ... it sucks. >From the tone of your note, Dave, I think you do NOT have the true X3270 fonts. You may have loaded them, but they're not in the "fontdir" file. Try running 'mkfontdir'. -- R; <>< On Fri, Apr 10, 2009 at 12:14 PM, Dave Jones <[email protected]> wrote: > Hi, gang. > > I've recently switched the o/s on my IBM Thinkpad from Windows XP to > Linux (Ubuntu 8.10)....I just got tired of dealing with all of the > problems Windows creates.
