I use mod 3 by default these days.  (Certain CMS apps have an affinity
for 80 cols and others (I won't mention) fail outright on anything but
80 cols.)  I have also used a mod 4 on my 1024x768 VNC desktop.  (My
primary desktop.)  Model 4 takes up almost 90% of the vertical real
estate and maybe 65% of the horizontal.  These all use the default 14
point font, but ... I am confident that it is in fact the X3270 14
point font.  (Proper "fonts.dir" file there.)  If X3270 cannot find
its own fonts, it defaults to "fixed".
