Dear all,

In this matter I reinstalled now a SLES 10 as Installation server and there
is NO problem in handling the LV. Because of this I conclude:

This is a problem in SUSE11 and not in z/VM or with the hardware. I checked
with a vanilla SLES 11 GA installation and this issue is also happening with
the GA version.

I have registered a Service Request at Novell (10513340661) but I was told
that there will be probably no official Level 3 support since I have not the
right level of service subscription.

Maybe somebody from Novell could help me in this matter because I think this
is an essential problem of SLES11 and other implementations could easily
face the same problem.

By the way: I have another issue with SLES 11 too: It is not possible to
specify a DASD as read only in the parameter line of zipl.config since the
script 02-start.sh complains about the brackets in the statement (e.g.
DASD=100-103(ro), 200-20F). Also this is something I will not receive L3
support on. I wonder what kind of support I would get.
