Hi Mike.
The broadcast is a leftover from the cloning, and it doesn't matter obviously
because
using that interface only works fine.
And just to 'clarify' we have made some more tests.
We have three more machines in the same net but with only one: eth0.
>From one of these machines we can login via the .122 ip address, but not
the .115 ipaddress.
>From our 'management zone' (there are firewalls here as well...) we at the same
time can only login via .115. But with only one interface we can login via that
one that is .122.
And internally inside the machine you can ssh using both .115 and .122.
So we are still confused, but at a higher level :)

Tore,

Why is the broadcast address in ifcfg-eth0 starting with 131.197?
Shouldn't it be 10.248?

Then the ifcfg-eth1 file looks different, so I might try something like:
# cd /etc/sysconfig/network
# mv ifcfg-eth1 ifcfg-eth1.orig
# cat ifcfg-eth0 | sed -e 's/122/115/g' -e 's/700/710/g' > ifcfg-eth1
# reboot

But, these are just hints (guesses? :))
