We just went through our first transition from CDT to CST on z/VM 6.2, and I've verified that the Timezone_boundary statement in SYSTEM CONFIG has the correct date and time. We do not IPL z/VM on any regular basis (yet), and did not IPL it over the time-change weekend. On Sunday (11/3), when I logged on to CMS, the time showed as CDT rather than CST. When I logged in to a Linux guest (RHEL 6.3), it showed the correct CST. I didn't think to issue a q time in CMS but rather just observed the time in the CMS prompt, so maybe it's CMS that "blew it". But after IPLing z/VM, the CMS prompt showed the correct CST, so maybe there's something else we missed when we installed z/VM last April. We don't "mess with" the TOD clock on z/VM; we have a couple z/OS LPARs in a Parallel Sysplex on the same z114s that use STP to synch their clocks (UTC), and z/VM just reads the hardware clock. We have since added STP_TZ to the Enable section of the Features statement, so we'll see what effect (if any) that has next time we "spring forward". -jc- ********************************************************************** Information contained in this e-mail message and in any attachments thereto is confidential.
