The UBUISO EXEC in "The Ubuntu Mainframe Cookbook" creates a TDISK, copies the kernel, parmfile and RAMdisk from an install server and punches them to the reader from there. So no 191 disk is needed. See https://sites.google.com/site/mike99mac/UbuntuMainframeCookbook.pdf?attredirects=0 Credit goes to Joe Comitini for that one. -Mike On Sat, Jun 25, 2016 at 1:33 PM, Rick Troth <[email protected]> wrote: > On 06/15/2016 07:12 AM, Terry Madge wrote: > > My colleague has been attempting to install Ubuntu under z/VM and has > created the 4 files required to IPL under z/VM CMS for the first time; > > > > INITRD > > KERNEL > > PARMFILE > > UBUNTU EXEC > > > > ... > > We interrupt this regularly scheduled thread to solicit testers. > > It has always seemed cumbersome to go through so many steps to get these > files, arrange them, punch, and IPL.
