It sounds like you're having two problems - the typical "BP6 locks hard"
problem, and the "Highpoint driver is crappy." I don't run IDE so I can't
comment on the second, but for the first, I try to keep a somewhat complete
FAQ at http://www.snurgle.org/~griffon/bp6-linux.html . While it
unfortunately doesn't have any real answers, it will at least bring you up
to date on what the problem *isn't* and where suspicions lie.
