I hope you're right. I can imagine a dual-pronged assault on Open
Source.
1) From copyright owners after MS fully integrates all the 'safeguards'
they'd like to see and people start turning to Open Source in order to
do things like digitally record television programs without commercials,
etc.
2) From the government after MS fully integrates all the 'safeguards' it
would like to see in it's developing interest in preventing computers
and the internet from being used in crime and terrorism.
