Yes. Considering that I live at the border of two electric suppliers, one
selling it at 12.5� per kw/hr and the other accross the street selling it at
6� kw/hr. I'm fully aware of their state granted monopoly.

They obviously do not controll prices. Who's price do they control, besides
their own? There one OS that costs nothing, and it is handed out by several
different companies. A lot of other OS's cost MORE than Windows. Name one of
these different OS's that is having it's price controlled by Microsoft.

The reversal of "monopoly" tag is being sought in the appeal they are about
to win. Take away that assinine finding and the rest of the decision is
moot. It is impossible to have a monopoly on Operating Systems, and now that
there is a panel of Judges with more than the bird sized brain that Jackson
had, you'll see his whole case get reversed.
At MOST Microsoft has a " competitive advantage ". This isn't illegal.
Almost all successfull companies have a competitive advantage in one way or
another. Netscape HAD a competitive advantage in both market share and
quality. They decided to stop improving their browser and just compete in
the courtroom, due to this huge error they were abandoned by their customers
by the introduction of IE4.

It is the AVAILABILITY of the hundreds of other operating systems that
negate the possibility of any so called "monopoly". Only the dimmest of
wits like you and sleepy Jackson could be fooled by Netscape's courtroom
competition scheme. The new panel of Judges will laugh his "finding of
fact" right out of court, and it wouldn't surprise me if they put the slap
down on him for his biased conduct.

What's even worse than that is oneupmanship. At a previous employ, we
were quite happily using a couple of Linux servers, one FreeBSD and the
odd Irix and Solaris system. Along comes a new manager and blows the
entire budget, probably as much cost as all the other servers put together,
on an extremely overspecced NT server. I don't know how he got the
approval for it since it was never actually used for anything, although it
was suspected that the reason he got it was so that he could brag to the
manager of another department that "my NT server's bigger than yours."
Most expensive room heater we ever bought...
