Menurut pendapat pribadi saya, seringkali orang2 yang tidak memahami atau sebenernya paham tetapi curang/mau untung sendiri terhadap software2 GPL/LGPL. Contohnya yah ini. Memodifikasi (atau tepatnya dugaan saya, cuma ganti logo dan mengaktifkan menu bahasa Indonesia), trus melarang orang untuk mengcopynya. Dibawah ini adalah cuplikan dari LGPL. Disitu dibilang bahkan orang2 berhak mengcopy itu produk dan menjualnya lagi. Berikut cuplikan dari LGPL: "The major restriction this imposes on your commercial efforts is that your derived product must also be published under the LGPL, which means that you cannot legally prevent anyone from modifying and selling your own version of it. There is no way around this restriction. The very purpose of the LGPL is to ensure freedom of the software and all its derivatives. Furthermore, the LGPL requires that you make available the source code of your derived product. It is not necessary to include the source code with the product itself, but you must at least include a written notice telling users how they can freely obtain the source code. Don't forget that you must, at the same time, clearly advertise the fact that your product is being released under the LGPL. This is made clear in the preamble of the LGPL". Beginilah kalo mental proprietary diterapkan ke produk Opensource. Jadinya menggelikan. Kalo mau cari duit dari Opensource, bukanlah yang utama dari softwarenya sendiri, tapi dari jasa2 yang terkait darinya. Tapi yah begitulah kenyataannya di Indonesia. Ga usah dipikirin. Biarin aja.
