Network printer need not be connected to any box. Just
connect it on Ethernet. I don't think Samba has
anything to do with Win 95 not being able to print to
the printer on Ethernet. Linux box has to be made
aware that there is a printer on the Network, so its
driver for this printer should detect this printer on
the Network. Then may be install and share this
printer on the Linux box using Samba and use it thru
Linux box if you like.
