Well, not to say that a BIOS update will remove the 1024 cylinder
limitation, because that depends on the width of the address register,
which isnt soft. However, since you ask, till late there was no device
support available in the Linux kernel for the BIOS ROM. I dont know the
current status. Read the documentation. For DOS, however, BIOS flash
updates are available. Look for the latest one on the website of your BIOS
manufacturer.
