Though not the exact model you cite, I have been using the very similar
Dell Inspiron 7437 (http://www.dell.com/us/p/inspiron-14-7437/pd,
http://www.ubuntu.com/certification/hardware/201307-13932/), dual booting
(the OEM) Win8-64 and Ubuntu 14.04. It has worked flawlessly after a bit of
wrangling on the initial set up. The biggest stumbling block was that
Ubuntu did not recognize more than two source for pointer input, and an
external mouse attached did not work as the touchpad and screen digitizer
crowded it out. I resolved that by disabling the touch-screen in Linux, so
its all good.
