Please, I wonder if anyone might offer any suggestions - not much hair left
!
I have ( had) a working Linux RedHat 5.0 ( 2.0.32 kernel) using pppd (
2.3.3-4) and diald ( 0.16.4-1). This was working fine connecting to an ISP
on demand ( NTL). I'm now trying to change it over to use Demon Internet -
thought it would be quite simple !
I think I've modified most everything I need to get ppp running - I still
have to change sendmail etc, but it now won't connect up ppp and I now have
an error in my messages file I don't understand - perhaps someone might
know where I should be looking.
The errored lines say 'frame with bad fcs, excess = dd0d'
( not always the same excess figure).
I'm even comparing the config files I can think are relevant to make them
the same as 2 other systems that connect perfectly to Demon ???
Murphys law is at work again here - this system runs e-mail for the boss so
the pressure is on and I'm away from Thursday !
Thanks in advance and apologies if this is not a pure diald query.
