I found that configuring Netscape to use a Proxy Server (even
though I didn't have one) instead of a direct connection seemed to
work. I just set the port #s to all 0. The rest of the fields I left
blank. I did this on a Win95 machine that was using a Linux
Internet gateway with diald and ip masquerade running.
I was tired of Netscape always starting a connection whenever I
wanted to look at tour intranet site. This seemed to handle it. I
can now start and close netscape without diald getting involved.
