% tail /var/log/messages
Should be a good start, assuming your setup is similar to mine. I'm sure
you'll make the necessary adjustments.
You may literally have to increase the lcp time-outs as the message states.
man pppd
Please start a new message rather than replying to another message when you
have a question rather than an answer. It's less confusing that way.
