Implementing it was a HUGE pain anyway since the original
implementation itself (and many cloned implementations) are broken in many
ways (routing issues mainly). It takes a couple years of reverse
engineering and debugging to get it about right and it still does not
work too well. The original message format documentation was outdated to
begin with... but now that you have a couple of reference implementations
and better documentation coming with them, it should be easier. (not that
i would see any sense in writing new implementations of that crap. free
the old ones and make them better)
