What is a APRServe Steve? I *think* I know what a local net is.

Where can I read more about the gateway system? I run a gateway in
Las Cruces NM.

Could I use Netscape under Linux and use it on a local network? I

Have heard about this. Are you getting any help from the X windows
experts?

Whether you use tcp/ip or not is sure not an issue with me. But if
it's the best way to do it...then use it.

        lots of snips

Steve I think the problem is communications. Too many hams see APRS as a
full pain in the back. Back when I was using windows and dos I was
interested in APRS and did actual testing with mobile stations. It was
neet but things then stopped and I went to Linux.

The Search and Rescue crews in NM want APRS to help them keep
track of the searchers. But they run into roadblocks all the time many
caused by the increased use of Linux. For example: Can't use the Gateway
because it runs in Linux; can't use my FBB bbs because it runs in Linux.

        See the problem Steve?

Best wishes
