The 2.1.42a tools work fine with 2.0.35. The ax25-modules patch is
already included in your kernel.

In the newer ax25-utils, axattach was replaced by kissattach.
Sorry, I have no knowledge of a german version of the HOWTO. The english
version is a getting a bit dated, since it was written before the modules
patch was added to the basic kernel.
