Are you using the KISS TNC emulation (kissattach on /dev/scc#) or
network devices (set up with ifconfig scc#)? Could you try the
network device mode if you are currently using the KISS TNC
emulation?

Complete freezes are AFAIK quite rare, my own problems went away after I
cleaned the contacts of the RAM modules and applied some contact spray
to the ISA slots... Everything's extremely stable ever since.
