I would say.. none at all.
I'm using Slackware myself (v4.0 and earlier) and have never used nos on
my Linux box.
All the ip stuff you need is already part of your standard set of
networking tools/utilities.
(telnet, ftp, clients, deamons, MTA, etc.)
