To clear up any doubt I am using the ax25-util compiled on this
computer using kernel 2.0.36 in this Red Hat 6 with kernel 2.2.5-15. The
biggest problem was getting all the binaries cp to this file system.
Everything works fine. I see no reason why a new package is not
made that includes the binaries and a sample setup. I agree that several
are out there now but they say ,for some reason, that they are compiled
with the new libs and kernel. This is fine but not needed NOW.
Sometime in the future we will need a package of source code that
compiles on new Linux libs and kernels. But for now a ax25-howto could be
written that states the above and moves on to other things.
More work needs to be done. I am not using a BPQ modem and have no
idea if that works like kissattach does. No sound modem stuff.
