I've been very interested in packet radio for some time, I'm also into
linux. I'd kind of given up for a while, but I just met someone who's
actually done AX.25, and I've finally picked up a book to study for the
no-code test.
The soundmodem capabilities built into the linux kernel seem very cool.
I'm wondering why there aren't drivers that go over 9600 baud ?
I obviously know nothing, but it would seem possible to create a single
driver that could be set to use any speed ? I'm not overly concerned
about compatibility with existing hardware TNCs, just maximum packet radio
speed between two linux boxes.
Also, aren't there hardware TNCs that go over 9600 baud that could be
emulated ?
