Sound card bandwidth is going to be a problem at some stage. Given
the maximum sampling rate of 44.1kHz, you can have a maximum bandwidth
of 22.05kHz (and probably half again for better results). How flat
is the input and output response of your sound card? That could cause
a problem too. CPU load will increase too.
The newer PCI sound cards may support higher than 44.1kHz
rates; I don't have one so I don't know.
