I see.
Any RedHat specialists out there?
Does RedHat _need_ this ramdisk for its startup? If
yes, what do I need to consider if I build a custom kernel?
Ok, try the following:
Append the following to your lilo.conf:
image=/boot/vmlinuz
label=ax25
read-only
root=/dev/hda6
(given that your vmlinuz is in /boot. If it is not, move it from
/vmlinuz to /boot/vmlinuz)
Then do a /sbin/lilo, if this goes well, reboot and enter "ax25"
at the LILO: prompt
If this works well, you can change the default= in lilo.conf to ax25,
then your new kernel will be loaded by default.
This is getting OT for linux-hams I guess. but I am trying to cover
such glitches in the documentation, so...
