Hi folks. Here's how rj45 cables should be made if you are using a hub.
Looking at the bottom of the plug with the end facing away, the colors
should be as follows, from LEFT to RIGHT. Note that the first color is the
main color, the second is the tracer or "stripe". This scheme complies
with TIA 568B standards. You should use cat 5 or cat 5e stranded wire if
these are for jumpers although you can use regular 24g 4pr if the wires are
not in flexing service. The actual pairs used for ethernet are 1&2 for
transmit data, and 3&6 for receive data. But it is better to connect them all.
1. white/orange
2. orange/white
3. white/green
4. blue/white
5. white/blue
6. green/white
7. white/brown
8. brown/white
