The problem is quite easy, you have the "lp" module loaded so PLIP CANNOT
get loaded.

How can you load plip if lp is loaded, ?? i am have seen from what you have
written that your problem lies in /etc/conf.modules.

Exachtly, lp is loaded so modprobe plip WILL say that.

Its your configuration whcih is at fault.
