I am certainly not a newbie, my first try with linux was 0.99 kernel.
But i can assure you from being subscribed to the linux-newbie list "i"
learn something new everyday from the reply's given to questions asked. So
your view of asking a ham is in my opinion not really a very good one as
many hams on this list do not even have ppp or even may not know what it is
period.

Then i suggest you read that subscribe mail from majordomo, i do not want a
flame war all i am trying to tell you is, you will get more and if i may
say possably beter advice from linux-newbie on such matters without the
insult to injury which you and others have received here now.
