So why it transfers data every second cycle: burst is: X-0-0-0-2-0-0-0,with
64bit transfers (or X-0-2-0 for 128 bit transfers), So 128bits per cycle is
transferred on *average*, but it comes in 256bit blocks every second cycle.
So it's half speed 256bit wide cache. BTW. Full speed 256bit wide cache
makes virtually no sense on Cumine, simply because it has only one load port
thus it's max data load bandwidth is 128bit (SSE transfer is 128bit) per
cycle (L1 code cache misses are so rare that it simply doesn't make sense to
designate entire 128bits/cycle bandwidth only for it).

Do you have an xf86config file? When I run XF86Setup, the display is
all messed up and I can't see what I'm doing.

Hello
Wvdialconf can't find my modem. I'm very new to Linux. I have just installed
Linux Red Hat 6.0 for the first time and I want to be able to use my modem.
It works under Windows. There it's called HP Fast Modem with V90 (MDP3858E)
and is said to be on COM2. It is an internal modem on the ISA.
I can't find anything that says that the modem is a windows only modem and
if it works under windows it should work under Linux I think. If any of you
know a good webpage with "how tos" that can help me, or if you have any
advice, I would be very grateful if you could share it with me.

I also sell Intel, AMD & SIS.... no I don't use a brail keyboard. I think it's you
that are
unwilling to open your eyes.
I've got a iBX, i820 (RDRAM) and VIA 694X test systems up & running right now - none
have any IDE
driver problems. Performance between the three is close.
I use 4 systems on a regular basis - 2 are Intel, 1 is VIA & the other AMD. All run
trouble free,
even use DVD on two of them.

Think MHz, not timing - it runs at full CPU MHz speed.

There could be two reasons for this first the file is headered and
its playing the header as if it is partof the waveform.
The second is that the whatever you are using isn't talking to your
audio device properly. We find that audio on Linux is sometimes
flakey and you get extraneous noises when playing things, only a
reboot clears it. Other solutions are to use a different audio
playing program that may talk to your particular audio device better.
You could try Edinburgh Universities na_play program which does support
Entropics -r*:* selection options (though I vaguely remember there
was a problem with entropic headered files that have predefined
offsets in the header). I have
play_prog na_play
in my .wave_pro and it seems to work (on Linux and elsewhere), or
at least it did, I don't have access to X-waves anymore. na_play
does seem to have problems with some Linux audio cards though.
You can get na_play as part of the festival distribution from
http://www.cstr.ed.ac.uk/projects/festival/download.html
As source or as an rpm.

I didn't see the 4100/200 listed, but I'll check again. The system is primarily
a file server but we have also hosted my group's web pages on it too (using
IIS which is another reason i want to move it to Linux!). The SCSI controllers
are built onto the motherboard and are Adaptec AIC 7860 and 7880.
