I just got it working! And it tested butifully at 1280x1024. What I did was
get Xfree86 3.3.6 (Thanks for the tip, btw), and ran xf86config. I chose the
"savage4 pro+" from the card list. That's all I can think of that might
have made the difference, but If this doesn't help you then I did something
else and forgot, in which case I can send you my new XF86Config file :)
