I'm afraid that this command line does not leave enough info in the parsed output to say anything about the result. Can you please add a "-w filename" to the command line, and then send (at least me) the file? In the case of FTP, the content of the communication stream is extremely important.
Also, I did not understand if the machine you cannot connect with is the gateway itself, or a machine behind it. If it's a machine behind it, can you also, simultaniously, run tcpdump on the ethernet card pointing torwards the machine (also with "-w").
Lastly, please have your dumped FTP session also include one transfer using active mode as well.
