debian has the alien package which can import rpm and tgz packages into debs so that you can install them using dpkg. Its recomended only if the package is not a critical one and is not available as a deb as there is a problem with library naming some of the time. I used to have more problems installing red hat rpms on mandrake though then using alien. > -- > Offer Kaye > > ================================================================= > To unsubscribe, send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with > the word "unsubscribe" in the message body, e.g., run the command > echo unsubscribe | mail [EMAIL PROTECTED] > > > +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ > This Mail Was Scanned By Mail-seCure System > at the Tel-Aviv University CC. > ================================================================= To unsubscribe, send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the word "unsubscribe" in the message body, e.g., run the command echo unsubscribe | mail [EMAIL PROTECTED]
