Hi,

I am trying to evaluate the pros and cons between an Asterisk system
and BezeqCall's IP Centrex.

There is little very little technical information on IP Centrex (other
then the marketing fliers). It's service based (10-25$ per
user/month), You get an Ethernet port to which you connect your switch
and IP phones.
freedom .... blabla... free software ..... yada yada yada... you loose control...

I feel more comfortable with an Astrix based solution, but the return
on investment for an Asterisk based system vs. IP Centrex for 8 users
is about 48 months.
I don't see how did you get these figures. According to your data, maintaing an asterisk box for 48 months is more then:

25*48 USD = 1200USD

is this the price of "apt-get install asteirsk" ...? or am I getting something wrong?

If you want a plain SIP gateway... why don't you buy a preinstalled Asterisk box? You will get the support you want, and I am quite sure it will last you more and cost you less.
