I use an IBM thinkpad 380XD without any problems and will be switching
to an IBM 600E very soon. BTW Debian ( Woody )rocks on muh laptop.
Everything works perfectly.
And something which I have observed among the laptop installs which I
have done is that Linux installs on a laptop are easier as compared to
linux installs on desktops or servers. ( My Experience ).
I would suggest that you install SuSE 6.3 on the laptop. It rocks.
And if you feel you want more, you can try Debian on it :-)
