I am duel booting into Windows 95 and Redhat 6.1 (Cartman) and my
machine is capable of switching it off when halted or powered off frob
Linux. However, many a time when I shutdown the system with "-h now"
flag or use "halt/poweroff", the system comes down but instead of
switching off completely, it reboots iteself (without going into run
level 6 i.e. the system displays a message "power down", the screen goes
blank and reboots). However, this problem never occured in Redhat 6.0.
Also I can completely switch off the system from Windows. I am at loss
to know what's going on. I tried using different shutdown down command
e.g. shutdown -h now, halt, and poweroff, but with the same result,
sometime though I am able to swtich the machine off completely. Could
anybody help me out?
