You don't have to specify a clockchip setting in xf86config,(If ur foxed
just press enter) the Trident 9750/9850 has a programmable clockchip, dont
worry.
Even if have selected one, if you care to redirect the messages from startx
you'll see the clockchip setting has been overlooked.
P.S~~>xconfigurator does a better job at autodetecting your Trident
card.
