Hi,

Still the problem remains. Let me tell you again what the problem is? In
one of the machine of our network does not except the login either locally
or remotely for any user/root. As soon as we type login name it goes back
to the same login
propt. We tried using sigle user loging but could not figure out what the
problem is. As Manohar suggested changing the default run level to full
mutiuser in /etc/inttab file. But that particula option is already there
, since it was set in multiuser mode. We tried to change the option to x11
login mode then it was able to axcept login but only locally not remotely.
There too it was not working properly. Can some body help us out?

Regards
Ajit

LIH is all for free speech. But it was created for a purpose - to help
people discuss issues about installing and running Linux. If your
messages are counterproductive to this purpose, your privileges to
submit messages can and will be revoked.
