There's a tool called Downloader for X, available at Freshmeat. do a
search as "downloader" there and you'll get it.
Hate to say this, but the best util for what you sy is in MS-Windows,
in fact there are 2 of them that are aabove average -
1. Download accelator - http://cnet.download.com
2. Mass Downloader - http://metaproducts.com
