Hi
These are two of many solutions avaialble.
1)If you can run X, run kppp. Exact path is /usr/sbin/kppp. Create a new
account in setup. Fill fone no. and other entries. Disable DNS. and fire it. For
detailed procedure refer to article written by Atul Chitnis in PCQ March 1999.
It's available on PCQ website and RHL6.2 CD. I think PCQ March 2K CD.
2)Be root. Run 'wvdial /etc/wvdial.conf'. Don't forget to keep your modem on.
After that edit /etc/wvdial.conf. Fill in necessary entries. Reduce the modem
speed.(Because at lower speed connection is more stable. My experience. You
decide...). Edit /etc/resolv.conf and fill in the dns. Run 'wvdial' from command
prompt. All above procedure to be performed as root.
Tell us what happens...

P.S. Make sure you don't have a winmodem. If yes, check www.linmodem.org first.
